On 09/08/2020 at approximately 5:22 A.M., Officers responded to the 1700 block of Park Street in reference to shots fired. Multiple witnesses placed the suspect inside a residence in the 1700 block of Park Street. Officers established a perimeter around the residence and made multiple attempts to contact the suspect. Based on the information at that point, a search warrant was issued for the residence and an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect.

Texas DPS was consulted and agreed to allow their Tactical Team to execute the warrant. DPS arrived on scene and took command while Commerce PD provided perimeter security. Residents directly surrounding the area were evacuated for their safety. The warrant was safely executed by DPS with no injuries.

The Commerce Police Department thanked the Texas Rangers, Texas DPS SRT-Team, State Troopers and others within the DPS organization for their help and professionalism in bringing a peaceful end to this matter. A special thanks to the Hunt County Constable’s Office, American Medical Response and Texas A&M University-Commerce Police Department for their assistance during this operation.
