A memorial service for Sharon Hohhertz, age 70, of Sulphur Springs, are pending at this time. Sharon peacefully fell asleep in death at her home Sunday morning, September 6, 2020.

Sharon was born in Ardmore, OK on June 20, 1950.  She was one of five children born to Amos and Doris Price. She grew up in Graham, Texas and went to school to be an educator and taught public schools for years.  She was married to Durwin Hohhertz on December 5, 1970 in Graham, Texas and had the pleasure of having one daughter, Julie Crystal Hohhertz (now Smalley).  She has two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Samuel Smalley that she wrapped her life around with delight.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on August 4, 1984 and shared in the full-time ministry as a regular pioneer for 14 years.  She took delight in conducting Bible studies and teaching others about Jehovah and his Son, Christ Jesus.  She loved crafts and enjoyed assisting Decorating for weddings and Christian gatherings.

Sharon wonderfully supported her husband in various assignments by traveling to do disaster relief work and building of Kingdom Halls all over Texas.  She assisted her husband in Denton during the construction of the Denton Assembly Hall, living on-site and cooking for the many volunteers.

She loved cooking for her family and teaching her grandchildren her cooking skills. She always loved traveling and enjoyed seeing everything there was to see in the world.  She loved the mountains and the oceans and always looked forward to a home by the water one day in the New World.

Sharon believed in the Bible teaching of the hope for those we love that die. The resurrection hope that Jesus taught brought her great comfort.  She looked forward to God’s Kingdom bringing about a paradise on earth.  Mathew 6:9, 10 She longed for the time that “he would wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, nor outcry nor pain be anymore.  The former things have passed away”.  Revelation 21:3,4

Sharon will be missed by family and friends until the New World arrives.
