SSPD Chief Ricketson Warns Residents to Avoid High Water on Roads

City of Sulphur Springs workers are preparing for potential flooding from Hurricane Laura related rains by putting road barricades out at all of the usual problem spots, according to City Manager Marc Maxwell.

Sulphur Springs Police Chief Jason Ricketson warns residents to avoid high water on the road in any areas that aren’t blocked off. Ricketson said that a water rescue team is on standby should the need arise.

Emergency Management officials are in contact with Oncor about power outage response. And local first responders are on standby and prepared to any reported accidents or incidents.
