Hopkins County continues to rebound well from the COVID-19 shutdowns. The county is reporting the lowest unemployment rate for June 2020 among surrounding counties.

Hopkins County’s 5.8% unemployment rate is an improvement from the 7.8% reported in May 2020.
The unemployment rate in Hopkins County in June 2019 was 3.1%.
We reported last week that the local economy in Sulphur Springs is rebounding from the COVID-19 shutdowns with a 7% increase in sales tax revenue for June 2020 when compared to June 2019.
