Wednesday July 15
Romans 8:35-37
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
It’s easy in times like the world has been in lately, to feel stuck and stagnate. It’s hard to keep a societal lock down from becoming a spiritual lockdown and come to what can be a breaking point. The great thing about the breaking point is that only two things can happen; it will either break you or bring breakthrough. The choice is yours.
You can allow life’s trials and pressure to break you or you can let them break the things off of you that may have been holding you back all along. No one has ever had the privilege of walking through a difficulty free life. Every person who has set foot on this big blue planet, Jesus included, has had the opportunity to allow life’s trials and tragedies to break them or break them through to the next great victory. You, however, have the distinct advantage of having the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
Being on this side of His death, burial, and resurrection means that the Holy Spirit’s infilling and gifts of grace are yours based upon the covenant of love that He has established with you. The choice of ‘break you’ or ‘breakthrough’ really is yours to make. Which one will you choose?
