Hopkins County Judge Robert Newsom announced eight new cases of COVID-19 in Hopkins County on on Tuesday, June 30th.

The Local Health Authority will begin to obtain as much information as possible to protect our community, according to HCEM. 

41 of the 59 reported cases are now listed as recovered. There are now 18 active cases in Hopkins County. One of the previously announced cases was a duplicate.

Newsom reported that Christus Mother Frances-Sulphur Springs is in good shape and has plenty of capacity available to handle incoming patients.

The City of Sulphur Springs has cancelled all city-organized public events for 30 days as of last Friday.
