The Local Health Authority will begin to obtain as much information as possible to protect our community, according to HCEM.

He also announced that 41 of the 52 reported cases are now listed as recovered. There are now 11 active cases in Hopkins County.

Restaurants in Hopkins County are still allowed to operate at 75% capacity. The county has filled out the proper paperwork with the state to exempt local restaurants from today’s executive order by Governor Abbott. Bars will be subject to the governor’s order, though.

Sulphur Springs Mayor John Sellers and Judge Newsom plan to meet early next week to make a decision about the planned 4th of July celebration downtown.
