Previously Reported COVID-19 Death in Hopkins County Ruled Unrelated to Coronavirus. County COVID-19 Death Total Still at Zero.

The previously reported COVID-19 death in Hopkins County has been ruled to not be COVID-19 related, according to Hopkins County Emergency Management. There have been no coronavirus related deaths in Hopkins County.

Texas DSHS had previously reported two deaths in Hopkins County but the second death was found to be a duplicate of the first case in addition to the death being ruled unrelated to the coronavirus, according to HCEM Coordinator Andy Endsley.

The Local Health Authority worked the case and communicated with state representatives to clarify the conditions related to the reported death.

There are currently 21 active cases of COVID-19 in Hopkins County with an additional 30 cases listed as recovered.
