Two DFW Area Women Arrested In Stolen Vehicle After Police Chase Through Four Counties

Two DFW-area women were arrested last night after leading law enforcement on a chase in a stolen vehicle through Hunt County, Hopkins County, and Wood County before eventually crashing the vehicle in Camp County.

Hunt County Sheriff’s Office notified Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office about a stolen vehicle that was travelling on I-30 with Hunt County in pursuit.

Hopkins County Deputies joined in the pursuit as the vehicle entered Hopkins County at a high rate of speed. 

The pursuit continued as the vehicle exited the interstate onto FM 69 South to Highway 11. The pursuit continued through Winnsboro, Wood County, and Camp County.

The vehicle exited Highway 271 onto Loop 225 just south of Titus County and turned left onto a dead end before crashing into a fence.

Julie May Cooper, Arlington, and Cateria Shantarika Mitchell, Ft. Worth, were taken into custody and arraigned in Camp County before being transferred to Hopkins County Jail.

Cooper is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information.

Mitchell is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle. She was also wanted on a Tarrant County warrant for 2nd Degree Robbery.
