Mark 6:38
And he said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” And when they had found out, they said, “Five, and two fish.”

In spite of His efforts to get away with His disciples, Jesus, was recognized by those several people who wanted to benefit from His ministry. It wasn’t long until there was a large crowd gathering to be taught by the Lord. So rather than turn them away, Jesus used this time as not only a time of ministry to the masses, but as ‘on the job training’ for His disciples. When opportunity came to feed them, Jesus said, “Go and see” what was available. He didn’t ask the disciples how much food they could find, He asked them what was available. You see, the disciples saw dimly. Like most people would do, they quickly began to worry and talk about why what they had wasn’t enough. They were seeing what was missing and were missing what was possible. This was the moment where Jesus would show those who followed Him that He wasn’t after what they had, He was seeking their submission. The same is true for you, the Lord isn’t seeking your talent, He’s seeking your willing heart. Have you become more familiar with the barren and desolate places of “not enough” than you have with your Almighty Provider? Whatever you have, whether you consider it to be great or small, can be used for immensely more in His hands than it can be in yours. The five loaves and two fish weren’t enough, until they were placed in the hands of the Master. Your talent, ability and resources are not enough, but it’s ultimately not about those things anyway. Submit your insufficiencies to the All Sufficient One and allow Him to do the miraculous with it. When you give it to Him, He will give it back to you with His blessing to change the world around you. – Love and Blessing, Pastor Jeff
