Suspect(s) Set Fire to Brush Pile at Coleman Park

An unknown person or persons set fire to a brush pile at Coleman Park last night, according to City Manager Marc Maxwell.

The City of Sulphur Springs had a planned controlled burn scheduled for the large pile of brush. The pile was approximately 1400 square yards.
Sulphur Springs Fire Department responded to the fire but officials decided to just let it burn out since the controlled burn was planned anyway.
An investigation into this and other fires set in the park area in underway.
