Private funeral services for Dorothy G. Shoemaker, age 89, of Brashear, with Brother Ronnie Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel. Serving as pallbearers will be Bernie Shoemaker, B.J. Shoemaker, Shannon Morris, Ronnie Wilson, Kyle Sanderfer and Michael Sanderfer. Ms. Shoemaker passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Christus Mother Francis Hospital in Sulphur Springs.
She was born on May 6, 1930 to Joseph Warren Morris and Ethyl McCracken Morris in Brashear, TX. She graduated from Miller Grove ISD. She worked 33 years for Texas Instruments before retiring and was a member of the Divide Baptist church.
Survivors include: son: Bernie Shoemaker and wife, Darlene; grandchildren: B.J. Shoemaker and Shawn Shoemaker and wife, Carmen, Michael Sanderfer and Jennifer Shoemaker; great grandchildren: Ashleigh Thompson, Kyle Sanderfer, Travis Shoemaker and Kelsey Christmas; great, great grandchildren: Tyler Sanderfer and Caleigh Thompson; brother: Richard Morris; sister: Thekla Morris; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Ethyl Morris; daughter: Terry Shoemaker; sister: Turza Hatchett; brothers: Tommy Morris and Rickey Morris.
