Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Into Child Pornography Produced in Hopkins County Results In Arrest of Collin County Man

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office located videos of suspected child pornography while conducting forensics into an ongoing investigation. The videos appeared to be produced in Hopkins County based on evidence.

A suspect was identified after further investigation a suspect was identified and a search warrant was obtained for a residence in Collin County. The Plano Police Department, Collin County District Attorney Investigator, and federal partners assisted HCSO in serving the warrant.

Christopher W. Hardesty was taken into custody at his Collin County residence based on evidence discovered during the investigation and the service of the search warrant. He was booked into Collin County Jail for Possession of Child Pornography.

HCSO will seek additional warrants this morning against Hardesty for crimes committed in Hopkins County including Sexual Assault and Sexual Performance by a Child.
