Former Sulphur Springs Wildcats Football Player and Coach John McSheffery Named Head Football Coach/Assistant Athletic Director at Commerce High School.

Former Sulphur Springs Wildcats Football player and coach John McSheffery has been named the new Head Football Coach/Assistant Athletic Director at Commerce High School.

McSheffery was a member of Sulphur Springs’ 2008 Class 4A State championship team, as well as being a first team all-district and AP all-State honorable selection as a defensive back.   He was a member of the National Honor Society and was a first-team Academic all-district selection. He went on to continue his football career at West Texas A&M after graduation.

McSheffery returned to Sulphur Springs after college and was the Wildcats’ defensive backs coach before leaving to become the defensive coordinator at Commerce High School in 2017.
