Funeral service for Helen Rawlinson, age 104, lifetime resident of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs, TX with Pastor Lee Huff and Pastor Garry Jordan officiating.  Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with her family and friends serving as pallbearers and the caregivers at Oakbrook Care Center serving as honorary pallbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Mrs. Rawlinson passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Hospice of East Texas, Tyler.

Hazel Helen was born on November 1, 1915 in Tira, TX to Hubbard and Sarah Rogers.  She married J.G. “Jack” Rawlinson on April 20, 1930 in Hugo, OK. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1981.  Helen had many jobs throughout her life including twenty plus years as a butcher for Piggly Wiggly Stores, but the most important ones was a wife, mother and caregiver.  She loved Jesus and her family, gardening, canning, cooking and sewing.  She taught Sunday School for many years and was known to bake a mean pecan pie. 

She is survived by her six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings; her husband, Jack; her children, Baby Girl in 1931, Jasper Dearl Rawlinson in 2011 and Evelyn Ruth Rawlinson-Moore in 2009.

Memorials can be made to The Hospice of East Texas, Tyler or Calvary Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs, TX.
