Genesis 13:14
The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward.”
As you get ready begin a new week, do so with the intent of hearing from the Lord. As elementary as this may sound, most people fall into a mundane daily routine where life is put on auto pilot. In doing so, you’ll so find that you may go weeks, months, and even years without hearing a fresh Word from the Giver of life. Today’s text begins by simply stating, “The Lord said.” Most people, however, fail to realize that life’s destiny is found in the ‘The Lord saids’. He is constantly speaking to you about every minute detail of your life and all you have to do to experience victory in those details, is listen. He is concerned about everything from your marriage and children, to which route you’ll take to work the next day, and what you should eat for lunch. He has great plans that He wants to reveal to you but in order to develop faith strong enough accept them, you must first to recognize and acknowledge Him when He speaks. Everyone wants to know what His plans for their life are but very few want to give Him the opportunity to speak to them on a regular basis. If you’ll make it a point to start a continual daily dialogue with Him, He will begin imparting life into not only the little things that you may choose to ignore, but He will start downloading the greater plans and purposes that He has for your future. Just like every journey begins with a single step, every conversation starts with a single word. The first step in your journey should be preceded by the Word He is wanting you to hear.
