Daily Devotional from The Way Bible Church for December 26th, 2019

Christmas is a time when love is expressed through giving. You give gifts to those you care about simply because you love them, not because you necessarily agreed with their behavior all year. This is precisely the way that God expressed His love. Mankind was lost in sin and blaming God for the consequences that they were experiencing because of that sin. In spite of the lack of love He received He gave generously out of the goodness that makes Him who He is. Not only did He give man His Son, He took man’s sin. Because of the blood, He sees you as perfect, as though you had never sinned in the first place. The blood of Jesus is now the lens through which God the Father looks at you. When you had nothing to offer, He gave you everything. When your very best was nowhere close to good enough, He accepted you anyway. All of your sin has been washed away and you have been spared from the wrath that was due as punishment. As you give this year, give unconditionally, just like your Father did. What you get in return is not where the blessing lies. The blessing lies in knowing that you are displaying His love to those who may otherwise not experience it. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
