YOUR TEXAS AGRICULTURE MINUTE: Trade agreements, good prices on farmers’ Christmas lists Presented by Texas Farm Bureau’s Mike Miesse

YOUR TEXAS AGRICULTURE MINUTE: Trade agreements, good prices on farmers’ Christmas lists Presented by Texas Farm Bureau’s Mike Miesse

What do Texas farmers and ranchers want for Christmas?

Of course, green tractors, red combines and a working four-wheeler probably make the list.

But market stability is definitely at the top. And that comes, in part, from negotiating and implementing trade agreements. After all, good trade relationships shouldn’t be too much to ask for, right?

Good weather and timely rains also top farmers’ and ranchers’ Christmas wish lists. They want good crops and fat calves. They also want good prices and a rise in net farm income, so they can provide for their families.

Rural broadband would be a nice gift, too.

Farmers and ranchers also wish consumers had a better understanding of what they do and realize America is food-secure because of it.

And they want the same as the rest of us—healthy families, peace on earth and goodwill to men.

We sure hope Santa is listening.
