Funeral services for Donald Douglas Brown, age 91, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19, 2019 in Spence Chapel of First Baptist Church with Bro. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Barry Ward, Joe Don Joslin, Randall Long, Gene White, Jack Schwen, and Chris Pearson serving as pallbearers, alternate will be Matt Ward. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. He was born March 25, 1928 in Henderson, TX, the son of Lonnie E. Brown and Margaret Beulah Scott Brown. He retired from General Motors and managed his farm in Sulphur Bluff for many years. He was extremely kind and patient, and could fix just about everything. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart, and he was highly respected in the community for over forty years. He was married to his first spouse, Beverly, for sixty four years, and she preceded him in death. He later married Joyce Brown, November 23, 2014 in Sulphur Bluff and she survives. In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Daniels and husband George of Pagosa Springs, CO, nephew Bob Steele and wife Lisa, granddaughters, Jocelyn Sipes and husband Kent of Chandler, TX, Erica Carrell and husband Anthony of Chattanooga, TN, great-grandchildren, Jessica Schwen and husband Josh of Sulphur Springs, TX, Benjamin Craft of Chandler, TX, Josie Faith Carrell of Chattanooga, TN, numerous other nieces, nephews, and a host of friends He was preceded in death by his parents, first spouse Beverly, two infant children, and five siblings.
