Luke 10:28
And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”

Many times people fail to receive the victory they’re seeking not because they don’t know what the Word says, but because they fall short in the area of being obedient to what they know. Whether it be inconvenience, laziness, or simply feeling like they lack the ability to do what they know they should, these individuals fail experience their salvation to it’s fullest because they don’t receive the blessing that comes with being obedient to the Word of God. Jesus made it very succinct and clear when He said ‘do this, and you will live.’ In most cases, a lack of obedience is not rooted in one’s ability but in their faith. To truly have faith means that you obey what the Word says in spite of what your mind or emotions are telling you to do. In His epistle, James wrote that faith without works, or corresponding action is dead. In other words, if you know what to do and don’t do it you can’t claim to have faith at all. In fact, James goes on to ask the hard question, does a person in that scenario even have the faith it’s takes to be saved. When you are at the crossroads where faith and obedience intersect with fear and turning back, ask the Holy Spirit for His grace and help to be bold and step out into following His lead. It just takes one step of faith to experience the power of God move in your life and lives of those who you may be called to reach. The time for half-hearted Christianity is over. The Lord needs your faith and obedience to establish the Kingdom in the lives those who are lost and dying. True life and salvation are found when you ‘Do this.’ – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
