The Texas A&M University-Commerce football team has earned a berth in the 2019 NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday afternoon. The Lions will take on the region’s second seed and Lone Star Conference rival Tarleton State University in the regional quarterfinal round on Saturday, November 23.

The Lions finished the season with a record of 9-2 overall to earn their fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA playoffs, which is the third-longest streak in the nation. Tarleton has an 11-0 record in 2019.

Kickoff time will be announced later Sunday night.

Other playoff qualifiers in Super Region Four are top seed Minnesota State, third-seed Colorado School of Mines hosting Sioux Falls, and fourth-seed Colorado State-Pueblo hosting Augustana.

The Lions have the third-longest streak of NCAA Division II playoff appearances in the nation behind Northwest Missouri State (16 straight appearances) and Ferris State (six straight appearances).
