Hopkins/Rains Soil and Water Conservation District’s 1st Annual Hay Show and Auction Accepting Submissions Now through October 4th

The Hopkins/Rains Soil and Water Conservation District is pleased to announce their 1st annual Hay Show and Auction.  The goals of the Hay Show is to provide agricultural producers an opportunity to test the quality of their forages, raise scholarship funds for area youth who want to study agricultural, and support area FFA and 4-H chapters with natural resources education.

Hay can be entered from September 23, 2019 to October 4, 2019.  Drop-off locations are the Hopkins County Agrilife Extension Service in Sulphur Springs and the Rains County Agrilife Extension Service in Emory.

The Soil and Water Conservation District will host a BBQ lunch at 11:30 at the Civic Center in Sulphur Springs on October 25th at the Hopkins County Fall Festival.  Grand Champion and Reserve Grand will be recognized from each county.  The top 10 lots will be auctioned off to the highest bidders.  All proceeds and donations to the show are tax deductible per IRS code, section 17(c)(1).
