Funeral services for Dr. Wayne Parker, age 75, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 1, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Barker and Rev. Al Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Parker Family Cemetery with Leslie Hrabel, Brian Tubb, Jace Orren, Tyson Fields, Eldon Turner, Brian Wright, Roger Brannon, and Todd Coppedge serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Abston, Robert Russell, Billy Groth, Pat Penn, Wayne Galyean, and Billy Orr. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 31, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Dr. Parker passed away on August 26, 2019 in Dallas. He was born on April 23, 1944 in Mineral Wells, TX, the son of Dorman Lee Parker and Frances Corrine Henson Parker. He attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, East Texas State University in Commerce, and Texas A&M University in College Station. He worked as a veterinarian from 1974 to 2008. He later worked for the USDA-FSIS. He was a mentor to many in his lifetime. He married Clary Discher on May 30, 1992 in Sulphur Springs, TX. He is survived by wife, Clary Parker of Sulphur Springs, sons, Lee Parker and wife Sarah of Brenham, TX, Colby Parker and wife Kaci of Sulphur Springs, daughter, Carly Parker of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Joshua Parker, Betsy Parker, Clara Parker, Charlee Parker, and sisters, Jean Frazier and husband Billy Wayne of Sulphur Springs, Marilyn White and husband Roger of Lake Jackson, and Daphney Hood and husband Johnny of Mt.
