Funeral service for Mena Faye Earhart Haughwout, age 97, of Como will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Black Oak Baptist Church with Mark Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Black Oak Cemetery with Gannon O’Brien, Mark Boyd, David Purcey and MacKenzie Boyd serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Mena Faye went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Methodist Richardson Medical Center.
Mena Faye was born on February 24, 1922 in Mena, Arkansas to Thomas and Lillie Bell Earhart. She married Samuel Haughwout and he preceded her in death on October 14, 2002. Mena Faye worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Small Business Administration and was a member of Royal Haven Baptist Church – Dallas.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Haughwout Manverse and husband, Robert of Como, Millie Boyd and husband, Mark of Plano; grandchildren, Kate Manverse Purcey (David), Hannah Manverse O’Brien (Gannon), MacKenzie Boyd; great grandchildren, Will Purcey and Ella Purcey.
Mena Faye was preceded in death by her parents,her husband and her siblings: Dewey Earhart, Wesley “Bud” Earhart, Mamye Earhart, Wilmer Earhart, Lois Earhart, Elbe Earhart, Mildred Earhart, Aubrey Earhart, J.T. Earhart, Everett Earhart and Clarene Earhart.
