Texas Raises Age to Purchase Tobacco and Nicotine Products to 21 Beginning September 1st

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has signed Senate Bill 21 into law, which will end the sale of tobacco products to those under 21 years old. The bill will apply to cigarettes, e-cigarettes and tobacco products. There is an exception for military members, and people who were born on or before Aug. 31, 2001.
The law will go into effect September 1st, 2019.
