Matthew 22:16
And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone’s opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances.

As a believer, you must come to a place of complete confidence in who your are in Christ. So many Christians have their life’s direction swayed and pushed off course because they put too much weight on the opinions of others. For example, they strive for FaceBook and Instagram likes as validation for their accomplishments and when they don’t receive them, especially from a certain person or crowd they’re going after, they immediately become hurt or angry. Look at it like this. When you seek validation from someone else’s opinion, your locking yourself in a box that only that person has a key to. The problem is, in most cases, that person doesn’t even realize that they’re holding the key. You must decide if you’re going to serve the Lord or the chip that has been placed upon your shoulder by the opinions of others. If you get caught up in the “I’ll show you” mentality you will subject your life to the opinions of people rather than the promises of God. The choice is your’s. Are you going to be confident in the words of Him who never changes or are you going to live a life of servitude and slavery to the opinions of people. God has never had an opinion. Every word He has spoken is truth and life that you can establish yourself upon. Refuse to forsake the eternal for the fickle. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
