Joshua 14:10-11
10 And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, just as he said, these forty-five years since the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. And now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old. 11 I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming.

Many people come to place in their life at which they give up on the promises that the Lord has spoken to them. As time goes on they grow weary and impatient. They feel like they misheard or maybe even that the Lord has let them down not realizing that He is still as sure about what He told them today as He was on the day He first spoke it into their spirit. A breakdown occurs when you stop pursuing Him and start pursuing the promise. Whether it comes to pass in a day or in many years, the promise is not what you’re to be in pursuit of. In the verses above, Caleb had been following the Lord for 45 years after he had been promised His mountain. But unlike most people, he had not allowed the fact that he hadn’t seen it come to pass cause him to give up on it. He kept wholly following the Lord and all the while the Lord had kept him strong. In fact, Caleb was well aware of the fact that he would still have to go to war with the land’s current inhabitants in order to obtain what the Lord had promised. He was ready, he had proven himself faithful and he hadn’t given up. You may be currently in Caleb’s position, waiting on a promise to come to pass. Maybe you’re praying for a loved to be saved or healed, maybe it’s a financial need or career change, or even your own healing. Whatever it is, continue pursuing the Lord while waiting on the promise. Don’t allow the promise to become bigger to you than He is. It will happen, and when it does, you will be well able to take hold of it. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff

Simple Saturday is coming July 13th. Simple Saturday is just that…simple. We are gong to show you how simple is to be a blessing to those in our community. We are going to meet from 11am to 1pm at various locations throughout our area and grill hotdogs to give away…and that’s it! You will see how very easy it is put a smile on someone’s face by simply blessing them with something practical. No preaching or trying to force anything on anyone, just a smile, a ‘God Bless You’ and a hotdog. Make plans to be a part of Simple Saturday. Sign up with the TWBC START TEAM at either Sunday morning service.
