Genesis 2:11-12
11 The name of the first is the Pishon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there.
Even though you may not believe it, there is gold in you. While it may be buried deep beneath a lot of dirt and rock, the Holy Spirit is able to uncover it. All of the gold in the world is of no value if left in the ground. The same is true of God things that are in you. They are extremely valuable and carry tremendous worth but they can’t do you or anyone else a bit of good until you draw them out. If you’ve ever seen a gold mining operation at work, you’d see that once the gold rich ‘pay dirt’ is located, it is run through wash plant where water separates the gold from the dirt. John 7:28 says that ‘rivers of living water’ will flow from those who believe. This water, the water of the Holy Spirit, is pure enough and strong enough to wash away any dirt that may be hiding the gold within you. Once it’s revealed, He can then put it to work in His Kingdom. What’s even more amazing is that He can use the water that flows through you to wash others as well. The word ‘Pishon’ in today’s text can be translated ‘increase’. As you continually allow His living water to flow through you, you can expect to see an increase in the amount of value that you bring into the Kingdom. He has place gifts of extreme value to the Kingdom inside of you, gifts that He can use to expand and increase His Kingdom. Will you let Him draw them out? – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
