Funeral service for Rickey Ray Morton, age 60, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Joe Swinson, John McDonald, Steve Crawford, Morgan Anderson, Roy King, Glen Mattison, Leon Edwards, and Cameron Fatland serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Rickey passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born on July 12, 1958 in Sulphur Springs, the son of Earnest Ray and Jenita Frazier Morton. He married Teresa Carpenter on June 11, 1987 in Greenville. He owned Morton Spreading in Sulphur Springs. He was a good husband and father. He loved his family more than anything. He also loved pitching horseshoes, coaching softball, and social functions. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Morton, son, Jason Romans and wife Tamany of Bullard, daughter, Tarra Ray Morton of Tyler, grandchildren, Justin and Avery Grubbs, sister, Diane McKinney and husband Joel of North Richland Hills,brother, Eddy Morton and wife Kim of Sulphur Springs, nieces and nephews, Kelly Starks and husband Steven, Shelly Heinle and husband Eric, Mandi Mitchel and husband Andy, Mark Morton and wife Krystal, Magan Bradford and husband Jeremiah, Mason Morton, Robert and Tina Stout, Shorty and Tonya Nelson, sister-in-law, Sue Stout, and numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Leonard Stout.
