Texas Commission on Law Enforcement has closed its investigation into former Sulphur Springs Public Safety Director Jay Sanders. Sanders agreed to permanently surrender his peace officers license and, as previously reported, resigned from his position with the City of Sulphur Springs on Friday.

TCOLE spokesperson Gretchen Grigsby told FrontPorchNewsTexas.com that the investigation was related to allegations that Sanders had submitted false information in order to get the state to pay for police academy for certain individuals. TCOLE told us that the individuals that the information was submitted on behalf of will not be facing any charges.
