Funeral service with military honors for Charles E. Gilbert, age 84, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Reilly Springs Baptist Church with Danny Caldwell and David Alkire officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Ridgeview Cemetery, Allen, TX with Mark Matthews officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Gilbert passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in Sulphur Springs, TX.
Charles was born on September 29, 1934 in Melissa, Texas to Newton and Charlcie Gilbert. He married Karen Bennett. Charles served in the U.S. Army, was a truck driver and member of Reilly Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Carolyn Hiller and husband, Phillip; son, Charles Gilbert and wife, Kim; grandchildren, ShamraKirschbaum and husband, David, Jessica Salas-Figuergo and husband, Eric, James Keaton Hiller, Chance Hiller, Jeremy Gilbert, KacieGilbert; great grandchildren, Kade Wilson, Ethan Salas, Karoline Salas.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents.
