A regular meeting of the Sulphur Springs ISD school board was held Monday, December 10, 2018.

 

PUBLIC FORUM

No one requested to address the Board.

Public Hearings re:

Application of Solemio, LLC for an Appraised Value Limitation on Qualified Property for School District Maintenance and Operations Taxes.

Designation of “Solemio Reinvestment Zone” under Section 312.005 of the Texas Tax Code, relative to the Application of Solemio, LLC for an Appraised Value Limitation on Qualified Property for School District Maintenance and Operations Taxes.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

Educational Performance of Bilingual/ESL Program for 2017-2018 school year.

Head Start items presented to Board under separate cover for informational purposes only: Director’s Report for November and Early and Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) Achievement.

 

ACTION ITEMS

Along with routine matters, the board approved the following:


Quarterly Investment Report for the three months ended November 30, 2018.

Comprehensive Annual Report on Investment Activity for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2018, and annual review of investment policy and strategy.

District’s Annual Financial and Compliance Report for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2018, by Rutherford, Taylor and Company, P.C.  The district received an “unmodified” opinion, which is the best that can be received.

Resolution 7-18 electing James Litzler to serve on the Hopkins County Appraisal District Board of Directors for the term beginning January 1, 2019 and ending December 31, 2010.

Acknowledgement of Conflict of Interest Policies and Disclosure Requirements in consideration of the Application and Agreement of Solemio LLC for an Appraised Value Limitation on Qualified Property for School District Maintenance and Operations Taxes.

Resolution (8-18) designating a certain area as a reinvestment zone in connection with an economic development agreement under Chapter 313 of the Texas Tax Code.

Findings of Fact under the Texas Economic Development Act related to the Application of Solemio, LLC for an Appraised Value Limitation on Qualified Property for School District Maintenance and Operations Taxes.
