Lights of Life Gala to Unfold January 16th
With "Date With Jake" A Hot Item

The Bachelor.....Jake Pavelka
Folks in Hopkins County will be tuned to ABC, on Monday night, January 4th, at 7:00 p.m., as the network premiers its new season of "The Bachelor." That's because this year's bachelor, Jake Pavelka, has graciously donated "A Night With Jake," to this year's 4th Annual Lights of Life Gala, and local bidders will have the opportunity to make a bid for this "once in a lifetime" event.
On Tuesday, January 5th, (Just after the airing of the first show), local bidders will be able to begin the process of bidding on the "Night With Jake," when a special STAR Country 95.5 program, aired from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., allows for potential "Jake Dates" to call in and place a bid. The bidding will continue at the Lights of Life Gala, on January 16th, when the lucky winner will be announced.
"This is just the beginning of the process," allowed Jackie Thornton, with the Lights of Life Gala Committee. "We wanted to get everyone to thinking about the gala and create some excitement among he ladies in the greater Hopkins County area, and STAR Country allowed us the forum to begin the process!"

"We're looking forward to a wonderful evening on January 16th, for this year's gala," continued Thornton. "The planning began right after last year's event and we continue to make certain that everything from decorations, to wonderful food, and outstanding auction items will be ready for the public!"
This year's Lights of Life Gala tickets are sold out, so in order to get a ticket, you must make arrangements with someone who will be unable to attend. Funds collected for this year's event have been designated to purchase a Digital Mamography Machine for Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
The "buzz" around town is that several groups of ladies are "counting their pennies and pooling their money," to purchase the "Night With Jake," that will include limousine service from Sulphur Springs to Dallas and back, dinner with Jake at a classy restaurant in Dallas, and the opportunity to enjoy the company of Jake Pavelka. "We're working on getting everyone in our group to add their share," allowed one local lady. "Several of us are planning a 'girl's night out' and want to be the winner of the date with Jake!"
"We're looking at surpassing our $110,000.00 goal for this year's event and can't wait for everyone to see the beautifully decorated Civic Center and enjoy a night of fun in Hopkins County," expressed Thornton. "Craig and Jennifer Roberts have served as this year's Gala Chairs and have done an outstanding job!"
